At MODEX 2022 in Atlanta Georgia, Marin Tchakarov of Kindred Ai (Powered by Ocado) had the honor of presenting Keven Kuntz of Gap, Inc. with the “Sortie Award,” of 2021. This award is given to Kindred’s most valuable client.
“We’re running about 228 Kindred Sorts currently,” shared Kevin, Gap’s Senior Vice President of Logistics. “But we’ll be adding to the fleet this year in our Texas distribution center.
With labor shortages making warehouse and distribution staffing hard to come by, Kevin didn’t hesitate in describing how invaluable Kindred’s machines have been for Gap. “These machines are great. They work weekends, they work overnight, so they’ve been a real blessing for us through the pandemic,” he added.
Ever since the Sort machines were added to Gap’s facilities, productivity has quadrupled from where they first started. And according to Keven, Kindred’s quality has extended beyond just their machinery as well.
“Kindred is a wonderful company to work with. They’re a great partner. We have been with them since the very beginning. They’ve been very attentive to the needs of the business. They’ve adapted their product… Packaging continues to get better, and the innovation has really been wonderful all throughout the process. They continue to innovate each and every year, so we’re really happy that we’ve worked with them for this long.”
“It’s been a wonderful partnership,” he confirmed when presented with the award. “We’re delighted to accept this, and we look forward to taking it to new heights in the future.”
