The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has taken the entire country by storm. Many healthcare officials are worried that patient needs are going to exceed the capacity of hospitals to provide for them. For this reason, cities all over the country are looking for ways to provide makeshift hospitals for overflow patients who desperately need assistance. When setting up a makeshift hospital, lighting solutions are one of the critical pieces of equipment that are needed. Along with personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators, lighting is essential to providing quality healthcare. Thankfully, countless companies across the country are stepping up to provide a helping hand. This includes Acuity Brands.

Some of the areas that cities are turning into makeshift hospitals include navy ships, sports stadiums, convention centers, and even hotels. While many of these facilities already have lighting, it is not nearly enough for doctors and nurses to provide adequate care. Tasks such as placing central lines, IVs, and intubations require extreme attention to detail. Acuity Brands is stepping up to provide products that address numerous detailed illumination requirements including Category 2 Plus, Category 2, and Category 3 patient care areas. These lighting options are going to provide adequate working conditions for nurse workstations, medication rooms, corridors, and more.

It is important for medical professionals to make sure they have enough lighting to meet their needs. That is why Acuity Care is providing products that have been tailored to meet the individual needs of patients everywhere. This is why Acuity Brands is offering webinars to help clients learn how to leverage lighting options to meet their individual needs. Some of the webinars that Acuity Brands is going to hold include:

  • Human-Centric Lighting on April 8th, 2020
  • Outdoor Photometry and Equivalency on April 15th, 2020
  • Lighting Control Trends on April 22nd, 2020
  • Defining and Calculating Glare for Interior Spaces on April 29th, 2020

Acuity Brands is also holding a contest on its innovative electronic learning platform, Acuity Academy. The top three individuals who complete the most courses through this platform by April 19th are going to win outstanding prizes. These include an Echo Dot, an Echo Show, and even an Apple Watch. Right now, it is important for everyone to make sure that healthcare workers have access to the resources they need. It is also important to ensure these resources are applied to maximize their benefit. Acuity Brands is helping healthcare workers do exactly that.
