“One of the ways that we’re doing a very good job from a digital marketing standpoint is introducing blogs and training videos on LinkedIn. We know that there’s a lot of our customers that look at LinkedIn for best practices and how-to videos.
“We’re doing a very large blog series on LinkedIn about some of the ways that these products – both from a commissioning and an engineering standpoint – can save time, energy, and money for the engineers that have to go about commissioning them.”
Bhaskar Chopra of Siemens Digital Factory Group joined us at MODEX 2018 in Atlanta for the first time. However, it wasn’t the last. Bhaskar joined us later on the show to cover key tips to sharpen up sales presentation skills.
At MODEX 2018, Bhaskar discussed the company’s latest automation and motion-control solutions. He also introduced us to Siemens’ brand-new industrial IoT cloud platform: MindSpere. The database grants customers a unique advantage, because one of the main pain points in the material handling industry is the ability to have condition-based monitoring. Mindsphere also provides predictive analytics for all conveyers in a distribution center or baggage handling system. MindSphere is able to pick up data points on all smart devices in a warehouse. It then brings all the data into one dashboard so that users can predict maintenance needs in their systems.
Siemens is marketing a lot of their products and services through regular blogs and video tutorials on popular digital networks like LinkedIn. More and more professionals keep seeking education in a much less-traditional way, so Siemens is adapting accordingly.
“Gone we see are the days of having traditional training manuals to teach people how to use products. People, especially in this newer demographic, want to learn from YouTube videos and training series that are more video-based in nature. We’re trying very hard to come up with more and more ways of educating our customers on the capabilities of these technologies. Commissioning practices of these technologies through video libraries and video training series on places like YouTube and LinkedIn.”
