Tompkins Robotics, a leading global provider of autonomous mobile robot (AMR) fulfillment solutions, has partnered with Primary Sight, a digital warehousing solutions expert, to bring a local presence to Australia and New Zealand markets.

Tompkins Robotics’ award-winning primary AMR solution, tSort, sorts a wide range of items and parcels to consolidation points, optimizing client distribution performance and capabilities. Recently, Kmart Australia deployed Tompkins Robotics tSort mobile automation to support its distributed logistics network in the height of spiking demands. The project was executed flawlessly and gave rise to multiple requests for additional projects in the region. Mike Futch, Tompkins Robotics President & CEO, and Thompson Brockman, Tompkins Robotics VP of Operations, recognized the advantage of finding an experienced, professional partner who could operate locally and deliver exceptional results, so in stepped Primary Sight.

Brockman stated, “The partnership between Primary Sight and Tompkins Robotics creates an exciting product offering for the ANZ region that is more flexible, scalable, and cost effective than the traditional solutions on the Market. Primary Sights values and customer first approach align strongly with ours.”

Sean Hewat, Head of Solutions ANZ, and the team at Primary Sight has many years of industry experience bringing innovative, cost-effective solutions from concept through implementation in the Australia and New Zealand market. “Partnering with Tompkins Robotics, a global leader in AMR technology, creates an exciting product offering for the ANZ region that is flexible, scalable, and cost effective. Tompkins Robotics values and customer first approach align strongly with ours.”

The two companies will work together to bring transformational robotic technology with disciplined project management principles to execute projects and bring value to their customers.

About Tompkins Robotics

Tompkins Robotics is a global leader focused on the robotic automation of distribution and fulfillment operations. Their primary system, tSort, consists of autonomous mobile robots that sort a wide range of items and parcels to consolidation points for order fulfillment, store replenishment, returns, parcel distribution –– virtually any process in the supply chain.

tSort is a truly modular, scalable, and portable robotic sortation system that helps build world-class supply chains while providing unmatched flexibility and throughput. They currently offer three models (tSort, tSort Plus, or tSort Mini) and two sortation methods (tilt trays and cross belts) that can handle the broadest range of product on the market: from as small as a penny, up to 100x75cm and weighing up to 50 kg. Their systems can work either in small operations in the backroom of a grocery, supercenter, mall anchor store; or in large fulfillment centers, processing millions of units a day. Their systems maximize performance, making their clients more agile, adaptable, profitable, and successful in today’s dynamic marketplace.

Tompkins also has other proprietary solutions such as the xChange, tSort3D, and xPress. xChange is a robotic sortation order removal and replacement system for orders and shipping systems. tSort3D is a new, very dense sortation system ideal for ecommerce and provides as much as 10 times the sort destinations and volume compared to competing solutions. xPress is an overhead robotic transport system that can be used in retail to DC environments. Tompkins continues to expand the core systems with complementary robotics and integrated material handling systems to automate fulfillment operations.
