Alex Kanaris, Owner and President of Van der Graaf (VDG), joined IndustrialSage on the floor at MODEX 2022 to share about the company’s ever-developing drives and drum motors for the belt conveyor industry which reduce maintenance requirements, take up less square footage, and increase efficiency and electrical safety in their applications. Their booth featured their flagship VDG drum motor, which contains both the electric motor and the gear reducer inside its cylinder so that the conveyor doesn’t need an external motor and gearbox driving it.

Van der Graaf’s motors, which can produce up to 500 horsepower, are largely designed with the sanitation of the food industry in mind–– though they can also be used in mining, shipping, warehousing, and even airport applications. And because all of their components are manufactured in-house here in America, VDG’s lead and delivery times are still quite rapid because they are not affected by international supply chain obstacles.
