“It’s up to us to make a product the customer really wants. It’s the companies that are focused on the market and matching what you can build with what the customer wants…and that’s how you find success in the market.”
Trevor Blumenau of Voodoo Robotics joined us on the floor at MODEX 2018 in Atlanta. He discussed the company’s new cloud display devices, which wirelessly display two lines of text that can be programmed using a URL.
Within two seconds, and with two AA batteries that are preserved at minimal power when not in-use, these devices can deliver all sorts of messages all over a warehouse. That means they can potentially display data from an IoT hub or even just a spreadsheet: from new orders to maintenance concerns to worker-to-worker messages. Best of all, the devices are leased month-to-month so companies can scale as needed. Clients can even return the devices guilt-free if they find that the system isn’t optimal for their own warehouse environment.
Based out of Plano, Texas, Voodoo markets their products by pursuing 3PL companies in particular through shows like MODEX as well as through digital marketing and building an easy-to-navigate website. But over-all, having a useful product is a key part of that mission; as well as giving customers the ability to adapt their supply chain bit by bit in small, digestible steps.
